The city of Sanary-sur-Mer

Sanary-sur-Mer fascinates by its harbor and its old town. The harbor and city center are traffic-calmed, and port area is mostly a pedestrian zone. Parking is available at the end of Boulevard Dr. Raphael Boyer on the left or on the east side of the harbor as well as in town.
Foreign newspapers can be purchased at the kiosk in the harbor (mostly from the previous day).

At the end of the harbor promenade is a daily market with colorful vegetables, fruits, fish and other wonderful foods until about 12:30. Fish can also be purchased directly from the fishermen.
On Wednesday mornings there is a typical French market with all kinds of products such as clothing, shoes, table linen, baskets, and more food. The marketplace has been awarded as the most beautiful market in France. It is recommended to go early in the morning to explore because of the heat and the many visitors. Here, too, people start packing up again around 12:30.
During the summer months, there is also a daily night market on the harbor promenade. Don’t miss out on the atmosphere.

There are many restaurants in town for lunch and dinner. The Restaurant de la Tour on the harbor, for example, serves excellent seafood.
But the many cafés and restaurants along the promenade also invite you for a café au lait with croissant in the morning, a café gourmand (espresso with small delicacies) in the afternoon and an aperitif in the evening.

The old town is located in the alleys behind the port. Just dive in and discover the many small boutiques, grocery stores and pubs. The stores close over lunch between 12:30 and 15:30, and in the evening they close around 19:00.

Beach and sea

The sandy beach of Portissol is only a few meters away from our studio and invites you to swim and snorkel. On very stormy days, especially in spring and autumn, when the beach is closed for swimming, surfers enjoy this bay.

Those who prefer to enter the water on rocks can do so at Kima Plage or behind the restaurant O Petit Monde.

The Maisonnette is located at the Baie de Cousse and the Plage de Beaucours, a pebble beach. This small cove overlooking the island de Bendor is in a residential area a bit off the main roads.

Other sandy beaches nearby are la Plage Dorée in Bandol on the way back to the motorway and the long beach at Six-Fours-les-Plages on the other side of Sanary. All water sports are possible there as well.
